First iPhone post… (0 comments)

Well this is my first post from my iphone. It’s just a test really.

This is a photo I just took on the phone of a plaque on St. Annes in Manchester.

There once was a tunnel… (0 comments)

Apparently this used to be a tunnel but it collapsed. It’s on the canal between Marple and Romiley. Just past the Aqueduct. I wasn’t really satisfied witht he lighting hence the black and white conversion.

Looks like I’ve missed another day or two on my 365 :( So I think I’m just going to give up on it and attempt to post as much as possible. Anyway, I bought Janet some flowers today and here is one of them. I was playing with off camera flash and macro tubes again.

Day 25 - Unison Strike (0 comments)

Today I’ve gone for something a little different. This is a sign the protesters were holding outside the town hall today. Not really great for artistic content, but it’s more a photographic record of the moment.

Day 23 - RBS Reflection (0 comments)

This is a new building next to the one I work in. With the RBS building reflected in it.

Trying a script from the forums for framing my shots with a little info on them.

Day 22 - Hard Disk Motor (0 comments)

Hard disk motor. Playing with off camera flash. Both camera and flash in full manual.

Day 19 - Wedding Ring (0 comments)

I’m going away with the Scouts over the weekend so I won’t be able to upload my photos. I’ll upload them all on Sunday when I return. We are going to Tatton, so hopefully I’ll be able to get some good captures of the dear.

Wedding Ring

Camera: Canon EOS 30D
Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture: f/9
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV

High ISO was due to manual flash and wanting to keep the aperture fairly small.

Day 18 - Is the 365 thing a waste of time? (0 comments)

Shot this on the break at band. I’m not really happy with this image. Which is leading me to wonder that if I don’t like the photo, should I really be publishing it in order to make sure I manage one a day. Surely it’s the attempt to shoot that matters to my photographic improvement not the publishing.

On the other hand, by publishing I suppose I have an online record of it all, but I don’t think this is a good photo, so what is it representative of?
