What a week! New job is going really well so far, and I’m actually looing forward to going to work on Monday morning! Had a busy weekend as usual. Got a couple of good photos from Lyme Park today, and Etherow yesterday. Oh yeah also got some more of the garden too.

Right too much to do… byeee!

New Job (0 comments)

I’m starting my new job with the Guardian Media Group in 10 hours. I’m very excited about it. As far as I’m aware I’ll be working with the Catalyst Framework which is  an MVC framework for Perl. I’ve been rewriting the Scout Group site using. It seems really really good, and exceptionally fast.

Anyway, I’m sure I’ll know more tomorrow.

Night Night…

MySQL Crazy Errors! (1 comment)

Heh, check out this error. I upgraded MySQL to version 5 on a server at work then some things (note not everything) decided to stop working when connecting through Perl. After some googling I discovered sweet fa. I decided to check the DBD/mysql.pm files manually and discovered that there were actually two of them! When I installed the new driver it had installed it to a different location than the old one, so it didn’t overwrite it. Some Perl scripts were loading the old one and giving the error below.

table tree connect failed -- install_driver(mysql) failed: DBD::mysql object version 4.004 does not match bootstrap parameter 3.0002 at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7/i686-linux/DynaLoader.pm line 253.

I removed the old DBD folder and all was well again. No pressure at all considering a large commerce site was down during all of this!

We went to camp in Coniston over easter weekend. It was freezing over night though! I managed to get a few good shots, but nothing amazing.

....Where did she wander.

Barenaked Ladies (0 comments)

I’ve just got in from the Barenaked Ladies  gig at the Apollo. It was one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to. They had an excellent support act with a guy called Boothby Graffoe. He played with the BNL and made a very for a very good crowd warmer.

The main act was superb playing an excellent mixture of new and old stuff, with the whole band switching instruments and even doing a boyband style dance at one point. I had an excellent time!
