Merry Christmas (0 comments)

Buried in presents

Hope you all had an excellent Christmas. Mine was okay. As is usual it was a bit of an anticlimax. Although my pressies were very exciting. I got a solio charger from Janet and a lovely Berghaus jacket from my parents. My mum was well impressed with her portable radio.

I ate so much food that I thought I was going to explode! It was all very very tasty, especially my favorite… pigs in blankets! I’m looking forward to our trip to big London town now. We go on Thursday.

Ipod Magic (0 comments)

Well, yet again my Ipod was playing up. This time it was clicking away, failing to play sometimes and failing to sync. Then it began showing the exclamation mark error. I thought it was probably a dead hard drive. Tried the usual restore and formatting it from Linux to no avail. I noticed a few sites recomending I knock it about and give it a slap. So I placed it in one hand and hit it on the back with my other. Nice and hard, and lone behold it worked! Seems to be working just fine now. Crazy.

If I see one more caroll I’ll…. (0 comments)

Sorry I’ve not written for a while. I’ve just got back in from yet another band job. It’s been a hectic week, and an even more hectic weekend. Although I did manage to squeeze a leisurely Friday. We went to the European Market in Manchester, drank gluhwein and ate bratwurst (yummy). I was going to take my camera and hopefully get some good pictures, but alas it was persisting it down and wasn’t to be.Â

Well it’s back to work tomorrow and I’m off the the new data centre to fit some rails and generally tidy things up before we move one of our biggest clients in on Tuesday. Should break the day up a little at least.

rarrrr…. OpenPBX (0 comments)

IMG_1506Here my raw… I’m aware i’ve commented on this previously, but OpenPBX is not ready for mass consumption. I’ve now been in work 7 days straight thanks to the delightful phone system, and it’s still at my house! As far I can tell it’s massively unstable. It’s crashed a number of times doing nothing more complicated than making a call! Transfering calls seems to be totally impossible over SIP.

working weekends…. (0 comments)

Been working today (Saturday). Thought I’d get in nice and early and the only thing I managed to achieve was discovering that the data centre was down. We’ve been moving to our new offices. The move has gone pretty well apart from my favorite phone system deciding to go tits up. I’ve got the server upstairs recompiling a kernel. It seems OpenPBX requires a the timer frequency to be 1000hz, and Ubuntu’s default is 250hz.

Anyway, i’m off The Next Karate Kid is on …superb.

Anonymous SMS (0 comments)

I’ve created an anonymous SMS site. I’m not sure whether it’s right to do though. I mean using this site, people can seemingly send SMS messages and make them appear to be from anyone else. Now there are thousands of humorous reasons to use this, or even for sending secret admirer type messages. But it’s also open being used for utter nastiness, setting up ex-lovers etc etc.

I’m just deciding whether to put the site live or not.
